It was a sunny morning in July when we gathered all in front of CS with smiles on our faces and 'ready do some houseeees' as Matthew said joyfully to us. When we arrived in Bechet, after the briefing, we put up the shade tents. It was my first experience of this kind and it was funny as it was the first time for others too and we kind of tangled up the pieces but in the end we succeeded in putting up the two tents. Then we split in 2 teams and start working, my team at the internal insulation and the other one was preparing some materials for the external insulation. I was surprised to see what kind of protection equipment we were going to wear and we looked like some little white aliens with those white costumes, glasses, mask and blue gloves. We really worked but didn`t feel tired as we were enjoying the work. We took lots of breaks to drink water ( Melissa was always asking us 'Did you drink water?' , 'No..But I'm not thirsty..' , 'If you are thirsty is too late! Go and drink some water.' ) and for lunch break the man in charge on the construction site brought us some watermelons.
After lunch, we split again in 2 groups, the smaller one kept on working at the insulation and the bigger one went to nailing work. The nails were making sounds as they were getting beaten by the hammers and we were laughing about it and saying 'Don`t you feel the beat? It`s the music of the nails!'. Anyway, I only stroke my finger once :). Around 3 o'clock we finished the work and went to visit the family for whom we worked on the construction site and it was a touching moment of the day. We took some photos and then we went at the Danube river (see the picture). Matthew and Leo crazily jumped into the water. Before we got on the bus again we received diplomas for our volunteering work at Habitat for Humanity Craiova and went home.
On the bus, Matthew asked us if we would like to meet the next day so that we pick up garbage in the Botanic Garden and some of us agreed. So we met again the next morning... another sunny day, more smiles.
